The Way You Want It

Look no further than your latest social media feed (or any other media, for that matter) and where you find the word “women”, it will likely be paired with another: “empowerment”.  Women are finding their voices like never before professionally, socially and even politically. But when it comes to intimacy, are we able to express ourselves sexually in a way that makes us feel empowered?

Because we’re all different and have varied needs and preferences, the answer to this question will fall on a pretty wide spectrum. Consent and mutual respect should be universal, but after that, the sky’s the limit. Since women are deserving of healthy and enjoyable sexual relationships, how can we be sure we’re getting what we want?

This article featured on the fabulous Hello Giggles discusses this very topic, and it’s pretty super. In her informative piece, writer Ashley Uzer explains that most partners want to please, but some need a little extra guidance. When we are able to move past the awkwardness and express our desires with clarity, everybody wins.

Of course, there are times some of us struggle with sexual concerns that don’t stem from poor partner communication nor general inhibition. Conditions like low desire, low arousal and vaginal pain are not uncommon, but they are often treatable. You are not alone! If you’re experiencing any of these or other issues, please contact us for a free 10-minute consultation. We’re here to get you back on track and help you enjoy the empowerment that comes with a satisfying sex life.
