As a clinician, I find nothing more frustrating these days than the difficulty women are having finding help for their menopausal/ perimenopausal symptoms. This is not an obscure disease; this is a normal life stage. I have women that have seen 3 or 4 other providers before coming to see me, for what I would consider routine menopausal problems. At Maze, we conduct a thorough assessment of our patients to determine the best course of treatment, which may include hormone therapy, estrogen creams, lifestyle changes, behavioral suggestions or laser therapy, to name just a few.
In this article, I really appreciate these women discussing menopause openly and honestly, and I hope it encourages women to discuss it with their health care providers. And if you aren’t getting answers from your provider, find someone that will. Help is out there!
