    Hello Rosamund,

I totally agree with Melissa that coconut oil is a great option. Also using a silicone based lubricant is better than a water based lubricant as it will not dry out as quickly. Also I would recommend staying away from anything with alcohol, or Nonoxynoal 9 as one of the ingredients as they can both really sting. A friend recently recommended this brand as well https://goodcleanlove.com/collections.
    Take care,
    Nicole

    Hello Alex

Welcome to the forum, I am so glad you joined. I know how scary this journey can be, but this is a very supportive place to know that you are not alone, and that you can overcome vaginismus. Please feel free to ask any questions that come up for you as you begin the dilation process.
    Best of Luck!

    Hello 21V,
Yes, it is normal to have burning after the procedure. However, how long it will last really depends on each individual person, but since you are not even a week past your surgery that is totally normal. But please do follow up with the doctor that gave you the botox as they should also look at the vaginal tissue and work with you to ensure success.

    Dear Forumname
Thanks for writing to us, and I think Recessecivegenequeen has given you some fantastic advice in many ways. On one of her last points, intercourse is just a part of sex and there are so many ways to derive sexual pleasure without intercourse. That being said she also mentioned trying dilators, or maybe seeing if there is a pelvic floor therapist in your area could help you begin the healing journey.

    Hello Hope,

Congrats on getting to the #7 dilator. That is a very large dilator, so it might take a bit more time to get used to it, and you may want to dilate a bit more before trying sex again. I know how frustrating this whole process can be, but try and remember how much work you have done. Please try and let go of that shame, and try and say kind things to yourself.

Congrats on moving so quickly through the dilators. The pink dilator is quite large, and might never feel as comfortable inside as the purple one does. Have you tried putting the the purple dilator in for a few minutes and then putting the pink one in?
Also if the pink dilator burns for the whole 15 minutes, it might be better to do five minutes purple then five minutes Pink. You may have already tried this, and if so I would give it another week before trying intercourse as I think the Pink will become easier with another week of dilation.
    Good Luck!

    Hello Jemn 123,

Please feel free to give us a call, we are happy to speak more about it with you. As this forum is mostly for vaginismus, most of our vulvodynia patients are not active on this site.

    Hello Hannah,

I am so sorry to hear your story, and it does sound like what we hear form so many of our patients. And while you may not want sympathy, it would be nice if they have at least given you some empathy. I am not located in the UK, so I am not familiar with how their system works, but I have had past patients in the UK find this a good resource:

Hope the ranting helped, and best of luck!

    Hello For Her,

I know dilators might be a bit expensive, but while vibrators are ok for later in the dilation process, in the beginning it is important to use dilators as they come in specific very small sizes. You really will be better off using dilators at least for the smaller sizes.

    Good Luck!

    Dear mbbrokklyn,

Thanks for sharing! Please do let us know if you are having another show, or would like us to help spread the word about your show in anyway! (feel free to contact me directly at MAZE) Also thanks for sharing about how writing the show helped you express your emotions and I am sure it also helped other women know they are not alone. The more we talk about women’s sexuality the more we will all benefit!
    Thanks again,
    Nicole

    EzraLopez,

Congrats on getting through your GYN exam! That is great news. I agree with Recessivegenequeen that it must help to know that all is healthy with your vagina. I know know there is probably still some fear, but please do talk to your gynecologist, and I hope the encouragement you are receiving on the forum has been helpful!
    Maryelle,
I am sure others will respond to you with answers on their own personal experience with Botox, but please feel free to give us a call at MAZE and we will be happy to talk to you more about the procedure.

    Take care
    Nicole

    Hello Halery,

Thanks for joining the forum. I hope you can find answers to some of your questions on the forum. Participants have been writing about their experiences for years, and have really helped each other. I am not sure where you are located, but you can also give MAZE a call for a free ten minute phone consult to see if we could help you.
    Best of luck!
