    Hi swimmer,
So glad you’re here! Vaginismus is the kind of condition that has different components.
Know that there is help possible and we have seen many get to the other side of this!

so true. I find that for many of our patients, making that call is half the battle…

Such a great point, Nicole. I find that being single makes us more vulnerable to insecurities and on a quest to figure out the “why” of our relationship status. For many women, vaginismus has a way of making them feel like they are on the sidelines– not just of dating, but of living a full life.

I have seen more articles in women’s magazines about vaginismus– reach out to see if they would be willing to interview someone who had it so they could write a piece on it that includes the human aspect to it, not just the WebMD side of it.

    Great line!!!
So true. Sometimes when it comes to vaginismus treatment the focus becomes on getting better for the relationship, but this whole process is often bigger than that.

    Hi KGilbert,
Sorry you’re going through that. Unfortunately vaginismus is such a lonely experience; I often tell people that statistically, someone you know has vaginimus, but you don’t know because it’s not talked about generally.
    We get it!

So true, Nicole. It’s hard, but it doesn’t have to be all-or-nothing.

    thanks for sharing that recessivegenequeen–
That was brave of you to tell your mom…it can be awkward, but as you said, she saw you were unhappy and ultimately, parents want their children to be happy and successful in life. Vaginismus can really get in the way of that.
