I had worried about this a lot too, but it seems most women do not notice it! I guess if we stick to the plan it will work either way!!!! 🙂

I didn’t care for sleeping with the dilators, however it wasn’t impossible. I did it for the first week or so sleeping with the purple dilator. It didn’t hurt at all just hard to get comfortable sometimes so I sat on the neck pillow. I decided sleeping with it in wasn’t for me and I sent Ellen an email asking for any other options. She told me to just extend my dilating in the morning on the nights I was suppose to sleep in it and that has worked wonders for me.

I had my cycle only 2 weeks after having procedure. However my periods are very very heavy and I didn’t want to dilate. Just freaks me out bc it gross. Haha. Normally my cycle last a full 6-7 days I as able to dilate after the 4th day. I didn’t seem to have much trouble with reinserting it after waiting 4 days. I didn’t try tampon because it always freaks me out since I’m so heavy. I think I am going to try next cycle though even if it is only on the lighter days!!

This was a huge step for me! Day 8 my husband Kris and I decided that we were ready just to try and see how far we can get. We had already agreed if it didn’t work we would just do what we have been to satisfy each through oral. So I had dilated an hour with purple and an hour with pink(I haven’t been able to get back to the blue but don’t worry Dr P said that was normal and you still can achieve intercourse) we then made sure we had a lot of lubricant, in the beginning this seemed to be very important for me it just makes it easier. We tried for me to sit down on him so I had complete control of the situation however this way didn’t work for me, I was able to tense my legs up so much by having to hold up that it made it impossible. We didn’t give up we just tried a different way. He then got on top of me, this way worked so much better for us. We didn’t do thrust, he just went in and out. He was able to get over halfway in, I was not able to do it long enough for him to finish the first time, bc I became a little sore. But we were very happy with the progress and refused to give up. A few days later we attempted again. This time he was able to go all the way in and we were able to last until he finished. This is something we have wished for years. It was still mechanical and we didn’t try different positions. The next night we tried again. This time we started with him ontop and added a little thrusting and then we were able to switch positions with no problem with reinsertion. It was such an amazing thing for me to go through. We did reapply lubricant each time we switched place just so it didnt get dry and hurt. With the Botox it tends to dry you out more then normal so just add more lube and you should be fine!!! Just take your time everyone takes different times. We eventually want to not have to plan and prepare when we are going to have intercourse so more romance can be in it but we are taking it a day at a time and we are very happy with where we have gotten. Stay positive and good luck!

    1. Stay positive: you can do it, The procedure will change your life.
2.stick to the program: Dr.P and his staff will give you tips and a schedule of dilation, keep to it so you stay ahead and keep vaginismus away from you forever.
3.communication: stay connected to your partner through everything, if something hurts or not comfortable let them know, you don’t want to push it to fast and make your body tense up worse. So go as slow as you need because the end result will be priceless. Also communicate with the dr and staff, they are here to help you and no question is stupid for them. If you have anything on your mind ask, and they will guide you, I promise.

Heather I agree…. The whole time I was planning for my trip to NH I kept having the fear that I would be the one that it wouldn’t work on, that I would be the odd one. As far as dilating I had tried it before and over again and never got anywhere, so I thought if the procedure worked I am not going to be able to continue this and that the dr would see that once the procedure was done. And like you I kept this a secret my entire life except my husband. I ended up telling a few close friends because they were the tech that had to come in with my OBGYN dr. I never told anyone else until I had already scheduled the procedure. I keep a few kids during the day and I had to have someone help me watch them while I was out of town so I had to tell my on, of course she was understanding. My husband and myself were very worried about the open curtain time.
The actual day of the procedure was nothing like I had thought, but exactly what Dr.P’s website said it would be. You will feel so much comfort and feel like home that you have nothing to worry about. Still having the fear that it wouldn’t work for me I still gave it my all. When woke up and had the big blue in I felt amazing, and then When we started to switch to the other ones I couldn’t believe that I was able to do it. Every time that I made any progress or steps I have never been able to do, my husband would tell me how proud he was and that he knew I could. Of course hat kept me wanting to d my best and push through this. The dilation was not near as bad as I had made it and actually wasn’t bad at all. It actually felt normal and that was much excitement to me. When I returned home I knew I had already made so much progress so I couldn’t wait t spread the wonderful news. The friends that knew texted me the entire time I was out of town but when I got home they wanted to know everything and were so happy for me. I don’t mind spreading the word of vaginismus because if I can help one girl/woman who is dealing with this in silence I will have done my job. If you are getting ready or thinking about getting this procedure, go for it. I promise you it will change your life forever. Don’t be afraid to talk about this to us or anyone else. Since vaginismus is so “quiet” drs and people don’t know it exist, and talking about it you mind find out one of the people you have known for a while is actually dealing with the same thing!!! You will want to scream it from the rooftops after the procedure! Good luck to everyone

My name is Amanda Miller, I’m 28 years old and have been married for 3 years. I have had vaginismus as long as I can remember. Since this isn’t something that you like to talk about I struggled with this for so long in silence. I thought there were truly something wrong with me and the I was never going to be able to have intercourse. I went to OBGYN’s who didn’t know what the problem was, who then referred me to a sex therapy and the Dr kept trying to convince me that something must have happened to me because it isn’t ususal. I never went back to her because I knew that there was something wrong. I then got sent to physical therapy with bio feedback. This help just while I was in the office , as soon as I left I still was unable to do anything different then before. When I switched to my current OBGYN’S he had heard about vaginismus, and said we would work with dilation, I still felt like I was going no where because I was unable to even insert a dilator. Thats when my husband and myself started doing research online and found a website about Botox for vaginismus. After reading it over and over again I felt like this could be my last try for success. So I sent an email and received all my paperwork through email, I was so excited I sent it right back and within 10 mins Dr.Pacik himself called. I was amazed and he made me feel so comfortable and normal, I realized I was not the only one with this problem and that he could cure me. We decided to go through with it and schedule this procedure with Dr.Pacik. We flew from Memphis, TN to NH. the day of my procedure was Dec 12,2011, I was nervous for it but I relaxed once I met all the staff and the comfort they gave me. When I came back from the procure with the biggest dilator in, I was in complete shock, I was normal and it can happen 🙂 the next day when we came in we worked on dilating and learning about our bodies. On day 8 after my procedure my husband and I finally were able to have intercourse. That was something that I never thought I could do. I of course am sticking to the dialting schedule that was giving to me but being able to have intercourse has changed my life and my relationship with my husband. I am so thankful that I took the chance and went and did this procedure because without it I would still be sitting in silence and feeling alone. I now can scream from the rooftop that I am cured and it was all thanks to Dr.Pacik and his woeful staff. If anyone has anything they want to ask me about the procedure or the aftermath please d not hesitate to ask, I am definitely here to help anyone. 🙂

@Lou, don’t worry everything. Will be fine. When I came out of the procedure I to had to use the restroom, I had a nurse go with me because I still had some anastasia in me. I was in absolute amazement when I took the blue dilator out and realized that I did it! When I put it back in, it went right back in and I was so happy. I had a set of dilators at home that have never been used because I could never talk myself into using them, but now after e procedure I don’t mind at all. I use the purple for 30mins and pink 30mins every morning and night. For me sleeping it did not work so on the every other day that we are suppose to sleep in it I just make up the next morning doing 1 hr. I promise you will be able to do and you will feel so wonderful that you are able to do it. They will help you in the office on the day of surgery and e next day to help you in anyway to get comfortable using them. Ellen helped me when I thought I couldn’t do it, but once I relaxed I did it!!!! Good luck on your procedure and look forward to hearing you success stories too 🙂

    1) yes you will be nervous just like any type of procedure you will be put under. However when you think about everything you have been through to get to this point you will be excited to be here. At the office they make you feel at home so they ease your nervousness immediately.
    2) I did bring a neck pillow also however I really didnt need it. I use it more now at home the I did in the office. I have trouble sitting with the dilators in so I just sit on the pillow and it makes it so much better!!!
Just relax and know that when you leave there your life will be changed forever!!!!

I have suffered with vaginismus all my life. I have tried everything from physical therapy with bio feedback to counciling. I have so many failed attempts that i had given up. But after doing research online I found Dr.Pacik. Everything I read was amazing, and I felt like I fit all of the problems. I contacted the office and felt so wonderful. Within a short time Dr.Pacik called me and went over everything and to discuss this. I felt like this was a decision that I was ready to make. So on Dec.12,2011 my husband and myself flew to NH and I had this procedure done with Dr.Pacik.. The staff and office was wonderful and I finally felt like I wasn’t an outcast. After returning home day 8 my husband and I were able to finally make love which was something that. Never thought was going to happen. I felt like I had finally achieved something that I had given up on. My life has changed forever and I owe it to Dr.pacik and his staff for it.. If you arr struggling with this, you are not alone. Speak up and don’t be afraid there are people out there to help you. 🙂
