DATING WITH CANCER

I recently read an article about dating that I really loved. I talk to many of our patients about dating and I have lots of thoughts and opinions on it all but what this author said is a beautiful message that I fully support.

She talks about dating while she had breast cancer. She writes about what it was like to look for love when she was scared about the future and scared about her life and her body and how looking for love through that lens changed everything. I think it is definitely worth a read.

She has worked at Beth Israel Medical Center in Maternal Child Health & neo-natal intensive care unit, with women and families during high-risk pregnancies, and with women and couples facing sexual dysfunction. Barbara has additional training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy. She has also created a pilot treatment program utilizing arts education to promote healing and self-esteem.
