We see single women of all ages here at MCFS. I am a huge proponent of on line dating at any age. Often, when I suggest it to women, they will say they feel anxious, insecure, or not ready. I try to encourage them to feel good about themselves and to realize that most men are not looking for perfection (as there is no such thing), they are looking for connection.
I think this article written by Joyce Walder beautifully describes how sometimes with age we can be a bit more accepting of our imperfections and embrace all that we are and be open to all that someone else is. It is such a wonderful and freeing lesson, as this writer describes with a little added openness, that a great deal of intimacy is possible, even as we age.
