ParticipantHi Jessbee,
I struggled for years treating vaginismus. For me it was imperative that I treated my emotional/psych issues as well as my physical symptoms of vaginismus. I saw a few therapists while in treatment for vaginismus. And I have to tell you – you are NOT alone. So many women suffer in silence with this condition. I’m glad you are talking to Dr. Pacik about treatment options. He is a amazing and a genuine expert in vaginismus. I observed his work last week and have nothing but positive things to say about him and his team.
Also I documented my story treating vaginismus on my website http://www.MyVaginismusStory.com. I receive emails every week from women around the world telling me they thought they were the only ons suffering from vaginismus.
wishing you all the best,
Jane

ParticipantHi ladies,
You are all so wonderful and supportive to one another, it’s so nice to read. Heather sent me an email about this thread, and I’m so glad she did.
I too spent 3 years treating vaginimus. Although I did not go through Dr Pacik’s program, I was able to find success in PT using dilators.
I too suffered anxiety and depression during treatment. I think the emotional pain can be worse than the physical pain. To help with this I found a few tricks that work for me. One is meditation – whether it’s taking a yoga class or listening to a tape. It teaches you to control your emotional responses. Helpful in so many ways.
I also found hypnosis to be amazing and also a fast-track way to go through therapy. I was lucky to find a qualified hypnotist near me. My experience was that during each session he would record his voice. During the weeks between sessions I would listen to the tape every night. Not only was I able to identify what I believe to be my root cause of vaginismus, but throughout the sessions we would say things like “you have the right to orgasm” and things like that to help re-train your mind and body.
If any of this interest you I’ve documented more about this treatment on my website here: http://www.myvaginismusstory.com/nontraditional-treatments.html#emdr
Coffee, I hope things improve for you soon. I know it’s hard to stay focused on a treatment plan when you’re not getting the results you want. But stay with it. You deserve a healthy sex life and unlimited happiness. I wish you all the best.

I hope it helped 🙂

ParticipantHi Ladies,
Just wanted to offer a quick introduction. My name is Jane and I struggled for three years treating vaginismus. I’ve been able to have painful sex for about a year now. I documented my story to share with others at http://www.myvaginismusstory.com. I was contacted by Dr. Pacik, who introduced me to this forum and encouraged me to participate.
I’m looking forward to connecting with everyone and hopefully learn from you all and share what I can to help you as well.
Jane
