ParticipantChristine, hi! I am new here, too. I have many of the same issues that Dr. Pacik mentioned in his earlier post. I am just getting started in the process, but women like you truly inspire me. I don’t have much advice to offer regarding dilating since I am pre-procedure, but I do want to say that I think you are a warrior for facing your fears and getting on the forum. I understand how scary and overwhelming it is. I haven’t even been able to post my intro yet! I do try to keep in mind my husband’s soft encouragement: “baby steps”. Babies take a year or more from womb to walking with lots of falls and bumps along the way. It is just a process that unfolds naturally and beautifully and on its own timetable.
Try to be gentle with yourself. You really have been through so much.

ParticipantI have only lived in Manchester for about six months, but here are a few links to get you started. Also, the Seacoast area is beautiful and if you have a car and the time, then a drive to downtown Portsmouth is probably worth it. As quaint and charming as you can imagine a little New England town to be.
A lovely art museum with a Monet and Van Gogh currently on loan. http://www.currier.org/
Restaurants (most of these and a number of other dining options are on Elm St.)

ParticipantHi, Zenely! I just joined this evening. I haven’t even posted my introduction yet, but I saw yours and just wanted to thank you for sharing your personal journey. There was a lot that resonated. I tend to be on the shy side myself and have been a little hesitant and nervous about writing something. Your willingness to open up has inspired me to do the same. I am really excited for you that your appointment is right around the corner. I agree with you: the posts on the forum are great and have made me feel pretty optimistic (for the 1st time in 20 years) that this pathway might actually work. Good luck!!!
P.S. I live in Manchester and will probably add something to the Jan/Feb 2014 posting to offer some restaurant recs.
