Christine, hi! I am new here, too. I have many of the same issues that Dr. Pacik mentioned in his earlier post. I am just getting started in the process, but women like you truly inspire me. I don’t have much advice to offer regarding dilating since I am pre-procedure, but I do want to say that I think you are a warrior for facing your fears and getting on the forum. I understand how scary and overwhelming it is. I haven’t even been able to post my intro yet! I do try to keep in mind my husband’s soft encouragement: “baby steps”. Babies take a year or more from womb to walking with lots of falls and bumps along the way. It is just a process that unfolds naturally and beautifully and on its own timetable.

Try to be gentle with yourself. You really have been through so much.

I have only lived in Manchester for about six months, but here are a few links to get you started. Also, the Seacoast area is beautiful and if you have a car and the time, then a drive to downtown Portsmouth is probably worth it. As quaint and charming as you can imagine a little New England town to be.

A lovely art museum with a Monet and Van Gogh currently on loan. http://www.currier.org/

Restaurants (most of these and a number of other dining options are on Elm St.)
Eclectic. Excellent food. Nice date place: http://www.mintbistronh.com/
Good margaritas and fun atmosphere: http://www.margs.com/
    Very casual gyros: http://thegyrospot.com/
Our fave pizza in town — delivery or carry-out: http://www.sals-pizza.com/
Cute cafe with yummy croissants and high-end chocolates: http://dancinglion.us/cacao/

Hi, Zenely! I just joined this evening. I haven’t even posted my introduction yet, but I saw yours and just wanted to thank you for sharing your personal journey. There was a lot that resonated. I tend to be on the shy side myself and have been a little hesitant and nervous about writing something. Your willingness to open up has inspired me to do the same. I am really excited for you that your appointment is right around the corner. I agree with you: the posts on the forum are great and have made me feel pretty optimistic (for the 1st time in 20 years) that this pathway might actually work. Good luck!!!

P.S. I live in Manchester and will probably add something to the Jan/Feb 2014 posting to offer some restaurant recs.
