Hey chicas! A very special and loud “Hi” and hug to my friend Heather!! I haven’t posted in years. This is actually my first time posting since the transition of the forum to Maze from Dr. P. Love and miss you all! Hugs all around!! 😀

Sooo… Here’s my question… I fell in love with hybrid lubricant “Liquid Silk” shortly after my procedure years ago. When I found that it would no longer be sold in the U.S. we ordered them in bulk. Well I’m now down to half of my last bottle and need a few recommendations for a good lube for both dialating and “relations” with hubby.

    Any suggestions chica???

I know it needs to be water based because of the silicone Pure Romance dialators, but I do like that Liquid Silk was a hybrid. I also liked that it was moisturizing. For instance, one I just tried (Wet Elite Femme Hybrid) soaks in soo fast that I’m dry after dialating – which is painful when trying to remove the dialator.

Please help chicas! Open to all suggestions. Oh, and thank you in advance! 🙂

Hey Alyx – great to meet you! Wow, this is terrible news about Liquid Silk! That’s always a brand I’ve liked so I hope they come back. In the meantime, I’ve had very similar results from a brand with a very similar name – Sliquid! The Sliquid Silk version (which comes in a purple bottle) is a hybrid lube and I find it to be very long-lasting. I always just need one squirt and that lasts me awhile 😉 Here’s a link to what the product looks like, though I’m sure you could find it cheaper on Amazon or elsewhere:

    Hi!
I just want to add that organic coconut oil is another lubricant that can be used with dilation as well as with sex as long as you are not using condoms. Cath recently wrote a blog on coconut oil so check it out on our website! It’s easily accessible and inexpensive. It may stain sheets so just put a towel under you. It’s good to know that there are always alternatives , we just need to find them.
    Take care,
    Helen

Coconut oil does make a great lubricant. But do remember it does not work well with condoms, the oil could cause the latex to break down.
