Female Orgasms: As Unique as a Snowflakes

real snowflake final

The decades old myth that clitoral orgasms are not “as good” as vaginal orgasms continues to pervade popular culture. However, a new clinical study has taken a different approach to “categorizing female orgasms” and studied physiologic sexual responses in women.  In their article entitled “The Whole versus the sum of the parts: towards resolving the apparent controversy of clitoral versus vaginal orgasms” Canadian researchers have concluded that:

“The distinction between different orgasms, is not

between sensations of the external clitoris and internal

vagina, but between levels of what a woman understands

a ‘whole’ orgasm to consist of.”

Like each individual snowflake, each individual orgasm is unique. Orgasms are not one size fits all, and the pressure to fit into that specific size often produces anxiety and feelings of inadequacy that make it that much more difficult to enjoy sexual activity and have an orgasm.

So, the next time someone tells you that vaginal orgasms are superior to clitoral orgasms, you can provide them with scientific evidence negating and proving the age-old myth is wrong. All orgasms are perfect just the way they are.
