Hi, I’m wondering if you had any trouble with leaking while wearing a tampon? I tried a small one and the next size up and I leaked both times. Should I try a bigger one or could it be that it is not up high enough?

Allie, thank you for posting this, it has really encouraged me. My last couple of years were exactly the same with my husband and I trying for a baby but then hitting that “wall” and me always ending up in tears! But now just a month after my procedure I was finally able to insert my #6 dilators and I finally see a light a the end of the tunnel. I pray that one say soon I will also be watching my own little one playing on the floor and remembering to be thankful to Dr. Pacik and God for him or her.

I had the same experience for the first week or so the pain was definitely worse and different. I think it is definitely due to the needle insertion sites healing but after that it got easier although it is not completely pain free for me now (a month later) especially when I insert dilators 4 and up.

I just keep telling myself that I need to keep going so that soon there will be no pain. The more I work at it the less pain I have because my muscles are stretching out 🙂

Just wanted to update and share that I have been dilating well over the last month. I cannot believe that it will be a month this week since I had the procedure! I have been dilating all the way up to the number five. And the pain/anxiety have gotten progressively lower. I have tried to use the number 3 times. The first time was about 3 weeks ago. I was not successful in inserting it. So I was very discouraged. Yesterday I tried inserting the #6 glass again and was once again unsuccessful. However today after dilating with the number 4 and 5 i decided to try the number 6 silicone. I was thinking that maybe since the silicone was a little softer and I had slept with the number 5 I might be able to make the number six silicone go in. I did!!!

I am not going to lie… it was very painful (at least an 8 for me) but that was while I was inserting. The pain diminished do to about a four within 10 minutes. I left it in for about an hour until i needed to go to the bathroom. I then took it out and tried the number 6 glass to see if maybe I was able to insert that. To my surprise it went in! Again, it was very painful going in (7 or so) I have now been wearing it for about 20 minutes or so and the pain is at about 3. I am so happy!!! I had started feeling very discouraged that I had not been able to progress all the way to number 6 but now I have renewed hope because I finally go there. And I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Since I now believe that just as with the 4 and 5 dilators soon the number 6 will be less and less painful 🙂

    Hello everyone,

My procedure is coming up in a little over a week on July 14th. I will be traveling all the way from Arizona. I am happy that this may finally help me. But at the same time I have many worries. I worry that I don’t actually have vaginismus and that it really is all in my head. That the doctor will say that I am completely normal and just making it up. On the other hand I worry that my case is the worst ever and that my muscle will not react to the botox. That I will wake up with my muscle the same which would mean that I am so broken there is no way to fix me. I am even worried that the anesthesia wont work and and I will jump off the table that second I fee anything touch me. I know that this all sounds crazy but at this point I am just very anxious for the day to come so I can finally get thought it.
