Young woman runner final

As more and more media attention is being brought to light about the prevalence of sexual assault, we are starting to see more coverage on the fact that sex should not be painful in anyway. The recent article in The Week does an excellent job exploring the fact that, “Women are enculturated to be uncomfortable most of the time. And to ignore their discomfort.”  This is true in so many instances, and unfortunately something we see all the time with women and sex.  The idea that it is okay for sex to be painful, or uncomfortable for women as long as their male partner is enjoying it continues to ring true far too often. This article goes even deeper into looking at cultural and societal norms that continue to encourage women to ignore and deny their sexual discomfort to keep everyone else content. Please read more here, and do not suffer in silence.

A safe and comfortable place to discuss vaginismus

The vaginismus forum at Maze Women’s Health is designed to bring women together. We understand that painful sex, vaginismus treatment, and the subsequent recovery can be sensitive topics, and you should have a safe and comfortable place to voice your experience, opinions, and concerns.

We envision this vaginismus forum as a place for you to introduce yourself, share your personal story, ask questions, and discuss any and all aspects of vaginismus, including our treatment options. We sincerely hope that you find this to be a comfortable place to discuss your struggles and triumphs as you navigate through vaginismus treatment. Talking through these issues with women that have gone through it can make all the difference.
