Do I Need Therapy and What’s it all About Anyway?

Lately my go to medium for entertainment is podcasts! After listening The Shrink Next Door – “a story about power, control and turning to the wrong person for help for three decades” – I felt the need to blog about the therapy process. This podcast is a cautionary tale that therapy is not intended to be about telling people what to do (even if that’s what someone may want!).

At Maze, part of the work in therapy is psycho education, as well as offering resources and referrals. It’s about helping women trust themselves to make sense of their choices, recognize their emotional blind spots, and clarify what they want and how to get it.

Lori Gottlieb’s new book Maybe You Should Talk to Someone explores the therapeutic process for both client and therapist. Here’s an interview with her titled “Why Should You Go to Therapy”.

A safe and comfortable place to discuss vaginismus

The vaginismus forum at Maze Women’s Health is designed to bring women together. We understand that painful sex, vaginismus treatment, and the subsequent recovery can be sensitive topics, and you should have a safe and comfortable place to voice your experience, opinions, and concerns.

We envision this vaginismus forum as a place for you to introduce yourself, share your personal story, ask questions, and discuss any and all aspects of vaginismus, including our treatment options. We sincerely hope that you find this to be a comfortable place to discuss your struggles and triumphs as you navigate through vaginismus treatment. Talking through these issues with women that have gone through it can make all the difference.
