Hi endofmytether! I’m not familiar with Dr. Ostryn, but we know it’s important to treat anxiety in general if it’s creating dysfunction in your life. And, since anxiety is often a by-product of vaginismus, the emotional experience deserves as much attention as the physical one!
At Maze, patients meet with both a medical provider and behavioral therapist in an effort to offer a comprehensive treatment approach. But if you can’t find a practice near you that offers integrative care, and if you are experiencing vaginismus-related anxiety, I do recommend you seek reputable mental health guidance along with medical care. It might also be a good idea to ensure that the two can connect and collaborate for most effective and efficient treatment.
Best of luck to you!
