I had a procedure known as a reverse transverse perenioplasty in Oct. of 2016, unfortunately, where the stitches were placed has left massive soreness and tenderness, and now sex is all but impossible. (Even with numbing creams). I have been ‘doctor shopping’ trying to find a urogynocolgist who would inject a steroid in hopes to calm the area, but none are willing to do so. I found an article on treatment with botox, and was wondering where in my area (Dallas, Fort Worth) to go for this…feeling frustrated and hopeless…was MUCH better before the surgery!

Sounds like your vaginal opening was sutured smaller than before surgery, which is what is making penetration very painful.
We use the botox procedure to reverse and treat tight vaginal muscles. The botox is injected into the muscles that surround the vaginal opening. I don’t think injecting botox into your vaginal muscles would have any effect on the scar tissue at the vaginal entrance.
If you want to give me a call to discuss your case specifically, I would be happy to have a phone consult with you.

It would appear that the actual vaginal opening is fine, (and always was) but the place it hurts are where the stitches were, which is in the lower vestibule tissues – Located at the 5, 6 & 7:00 areas. I have actually found a physician here in Texas in Houston who has done this exact botox procedure for this before. Her name is: Dr. Anuja Vyas, and I have made an appt. to travel down from Dallas to see her on April 10th – fingers crossed.

And thank you for giving the provider name, I am sure there are other women in your area that would benefit from knowing of other providers who also use botox.
Good luck, I really hope this is the fix for you.

March 13, 2018 at 10:20 pm #22596WAHermanParticipantThank you – I was SO excited to actually find her, and even more excited she is only a 5 hour drive from my location. I actually found her just by digging and digging on the internet, and came across a blog by a former patient of hers.I wish there was more advancements in this field, and more physicians who are willing to do cutting edge (possible) solutions.
