Hi ladies. There is an excellent new blog posted today that discusses the concept of MeetUp Groups / Support Groups for vaginismus.

    http://www.vaginismusmd.com/new-meetup-group-vaginismus-dyspareunia-and-infertility-support-group/

The blog describes a new MeetUp Group, founded by Rachel Barr, as a support group for women with vaginismus, dyspareunia, and infertility.

Excerpts from Rachel’s description of her MeetUp Group include:

“Many women who experience sexual pain disorders or infertility issues find themselves isolated and alone with no one to confide in about their embarrassing or sensitive issue. There are also many men who are affected by their partner’s sexual pain disorder and they also require support too. This group will act as a support group where we can support each other through social gatherings, educational meetups, practical advice on how to overcome sexual pain disorders. This group will also look at ways that we can give women a voice who feel they have no voice…”

The blog goes on to describe the importance of receiving support in a group setting and how helpful it can be. It further discusses how educational it would also be to start support groups, such as this one, all over the world:

“It is our feeling that this is an excellent way to raise aware of sexual pain disorders and to form support groups throughout the world. This particular meetup group is based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; however, meetup groups like this could be formed all around the country. Even if the group ended up with only 3, 4 or 5 members, the support and advise they would receive would be priceless.”

I believe this is such a wonderful idea and I encourage you to read this Blog and welcome your comments and feedback here.
