I agree with Heather that trying some dilation is a good idea.

I don’t think the three finger rule applies to everyone.

Partner size also can make a difference in the ease of penetration.

If you are worried about intercourse for the first time, I think trying some dilation to gain some confidence in your ability is a good plan.
