Effective menopause treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all; it’s the combination of expertise, medical options, and whole-person support that creates meaningful relief. The gold standard includes using the full range of evidence-based tools available, which may include medications, hormones, lifestyle interventions, and other therapies, along with psychological support. At Maze, our Certified Menopause Practitioners take an integrated approach that starts with a comprehensive evaluation, complete blood work, and a personalized treatment plan built around your symptoms, goals, and medical history. The gold standard of menopause care includes a high level of expertise working with all available medical resources — medications, hormonal options, lifestyle tools, and other therapies — and it often includes an element of psychological support. Women going through perimenopause and menopause are navigating major shifts in career, family dynamics, relationships, and body changes. Those transitions can be difficult to carry alone, and the stress can show up in unexpected ways. Add to that the frustration of bouncing from provider to provider and being told it “must be in your head,” and it can feel overwhelming, demoralizing, and isolating. We’ve found it can be invaluable to have dedicated support to process what’s happening and build healthier, more sustainable coping strategies.

At Maze, our Certified Menopause Practitioners approach every patient with a combination of treatments. We start with a full evaluation with both a medical provider and a therapist so we can understand the complete picture: your medications, prior treatments, symptoms, concerns, and goals. We also review a full panel of blood work to identify any underlying conditions that could be affecting your menopause experience. Our therapist works with you to assess how these issues may be impacting the way you perceive yourself and your body, and how they’re showing up in relationships, mood, sleep, and stress levels.

From there, we tailor the right treatment plan for you, which may include HRT (hormone replacement therapy), TRT (testosterone replacement therapy), local estrogen/testosterone treatment for the vulva and vagina, topical vulvar/vaginal treatments, medication adjustments, bioidentical hormones, herbal medications, laser therapies (such as MonaLisa Touch), breathing and relaxation exercises, lifestyle advising and modification, and short-term counseling. When considering treatment for menopausal symptoms, one of the first decisions is whether you want to address the underlying cause broadly or treat individual symptoms — there is no single “right” answer. Each woman deserves a menopause treatment plan that matches her body, her preferences, and what relief looks like for her.
