    Hi there,

We’ve just decided to start trying to conveive (a big, exciting, and scary decision!)

However, once you start doing a bit of reading, you realise how many things there are to consider, and how its not necessarily a straight forward thing!

I read on the internet that some lubes can make the sperm less effective (Semen is neutral to alkaline, so using an acidic lubricant at ovulation may damage sperm motility). Currently I use the Yes Yes oil based lube, but they also offer a fertility friendly lube, which can be found at http://www.yesyesyes.org/yesbaby.htm

I just wondered what people would recommend here, and how much of an issue it is?

    Thanks,

    Arose.

Hi, I was told that most women use the Preseed lube as it has been seigned especially for women who are trying to get pregnant. I used it and I found that I didn’t have to use a lot and it isn’t thick like ky jelly which is nice. Good luck with the baby trying!

Hi, I just gave birth to a baby boy two weeks ago and when I tried to get pregnant, I used Astroglide. I didn’t like KY because it was thick and got sticky once dried up. Astroglide felt more natural like water to me.

My friends recommended pre-seed which is highly recommended for trying to conceive because it doesn’t kill sperms. I was lucky I got pregnant before needing to try it. Here’s the website: http://www.preseed.com/index.html. Hope that helps!
