Hello, I'm Mx. Smith. I've been struggling with intermittent painful sex for years. I struggle with recurrent BV and so I've often thought painful sex was related to that; however, if I look back at my life, sex was always hard and painful for me from the start. All of my sexual partners have commented about how tight I am. I've had medical professionals comment that it looked like my vagina was biting the speculum. I've had nervous breakdowns at the gynecologist over routine exams. The first time I had to insert a tampon I cried and I've only tried a few times because it's very painful. I'm somewhat confused because I have had some sex that was not painful, and so I don't understand why it is now again. My partner and I had normal painless sex for about a year and then I got BV and struggled with it for several months. We decided not to have sex for 6 months while my vaginal microbiome regenerated itself. Now it's been 9 months and everything seems normal except sex is painful.
